Christmas Party

I just wanted to remind everyone that the McKnight's Christmas party is coming up on the 23rd of December. Also always it will be at 38 Woodward St., Newton, MA and will be from 5-11pm.

If you are on facebook and want to know who else is going here is the even info.

Here is the G-Cal info.

The Camp Frank A. Day family

One of the most wonderful things about camp is that the people you meet really become family. You also become close to their family.

This past September I went on a trip to Costa Rica and was able to meet up with a friend of mine from camp. She was doing her semester abroad and her parents where visiting her. My sister and I had lunch with them and had an a great time.

My friend's father host's a show on the local newton cable channel and invited me to come on the show to talk about my families incredible adoption story. In early November I went in and did the interview. It was a great experience and it turned out very nicely.

Since we talk about camp and we met through camp I thought I would share with the Camp Day family.

If you would like to read more about the story my sister and I write a blog about it. We have a couple of other video interviews, lots of posts about what we went through and an ebook. www.anasmiracle.com

Camp Work Weekend

It’s that time of year…. We are setting up camp and we are going to need your help. Work Weekend will be May 19th and 20th. We hope to get the Tents up, cabins cleaned, Dining Hall set up, Rec. Hall cleaned out, fire pits remade, racking the units, brushing off the cabin roofs and other things that will help get camp ready for summer. This is to provide the staff during staff training time to concentrate on how to make camp better for campers and not necessarily cleaning it up.

We will begin working at 9:00am and finish up around 5:00pm. Lunch will be provided both days. (And if we get the kitchen up and ready there maybe coffee) Any amount of time you can donate will be greatly appreciated. As you know it takes everyone’s help to get the camp ready.

If you have any questions, please let me know at scotte@ymcainnewton.org I want to thank you in advance for your time and remember Camp Frank A. Day is “a great place to grow”. So, lets plant the seeds this spring and help others enjoy the fruit of labor this summer.
